The government of Djibouti has pledged to deploy more troops to Somalia peacekeeping mission within coming three weeks.
Djibouti President Ismail Omar Gelle has said that his nation will send additional one battalion troops to boost its peacekeepers operating in central Somalia region.
President Gelle told the VOA Somali Service that the additional troops are expected to arrive in Somalia within the next three weeks.
Djibouti, is the third peacekeepers contributing country of the African Union Mission in Somalia [AMISOM]. Its one battalion forces are currently operating in the Hiran region region (AMISOM’s sector four base).
The Djibouti forces are known for descent security work and their high cooperation with the local community and several reconciliation events due to their Somali speaking background which gave them a quick integration into the local people.
