Dear Mr. Editor,
Your news report on the 28th
of Dec 2013: “Heineken verslikt zich in popzanger†is disappointing.
Your comparison of Emperor Menlik II with Hitler was not supported by facts. You did not even mention his
remarkable leadership that succeeded in defeating the Italian colonial army at Adwa. The victory of Adwa had
protected Ethiopians from colonial encroachment and further servitude.
Your report also made no mention about “The Journey of Love 2014” music concerts organizers’ view on the
issue. In other words no one gets a balanced picture in your news report. While writing this letter you may
also be interested to know that the Journalist that misquoted the artist in Ethiopia has already apologized and
the entire frenzy was thus based on a farce.
Please do regard this as an official complaint. We do expect in your future reporting objectivity and
responsibility to history.
