Garland police have linked 7-Eleven murder suspect Colton Moore to another shooting at a Garland convenience store one week ago.

Moore, 18, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with capital murder in the death of clerk Yosef Tulu.

Police said the Homeboys gas station and store was across the street from the 7-Eleven where Moore killed Tulu.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Jan. 16.The Homeboys clerk was shot twice while walking toward his car. The clerk was able to get back inside the store and call help.

The clerk survived the shooting and was transported to local hospital for treatment.

Police said Moore admitted to the Homeboys shooting during his interview with detectives.

Police also said they recovered two shell casings and believe they’re from the same small-caliber rifle used in the 7-Eleven murder.

Police are prepared to file an additional charge of aggravated assault against Moore for the shooting.

Moore was taken into custody without incident and has been cooperative, police said. His bond was set at $1 million. Moore was transferred to the Dallas County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
