CHICAGO, IL (September 24th, 2014) – TAG Heuer announced today that the Luxury Swiss watch brand recognized for breaking the boundaries in traditional watchmaking with its prestigious sports watches and chronographs, has been named the official timekeeper and timepiece of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Adding to its title as the official timekeeper and timepiece of the TCS New York City Marathon, this partnership is one element of TAG Heuer’s global “Don’t Crack Under Pressure” campaign, which celebrates the achievements of individuals who challenge themselves to reach a goal they once thought impossible.

“The Bank of America Chicago Marathon perfectly embodies the TAG Heuer mindset of mental fortitude, perseverance and inner strength,” said TAG Heuer North America President and CEO, Ulrich Wohn. “Running 26.2 miles requires resilience and willpower and TAG Heuer is thrilled to celebrate those personal achievements with these ambitious individuals.”

As a result of its national and international draw, the iconic race allows runners to test their inner strength and perseverance by running 26.2 miles amongst 45,000 participants, including a world-class elite runner and wheelchair athlete field, and an estimated 1.7 million spectators. A member of the World Marathon Majors, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon also assists in raising millions of dollars for a variety of charitable causes while generating more than $253 million in annual economic impact to its iconic city.

In its 37th year and a member of the World Marathon Majors, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon annually attracts 45,000 participants, including a world-class elite runner and wheelchair athlete field, and an estimated 1.7 million spectators.
