Media Credentials
We are no longer accepting applications for media credentials to cover the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

For those who have already applied for and been approved for media credentials, your credentials are available for pick-up Thursday through Sunday at the Media Center in the Chicago Hilton. Please bring a photo ID.

Race Day Media Access
Please be advised of some policy changes regarding race day media access to the Bank of America Chicago Marathon start and finish areas in Grant Park. More details can be found in the below, and please contact lily@teamworksmedia.com with questions.

As always, access to the start and finish line photo/video corrals will be granted only to individuals with official 2013 Chicago Marathon media credentials. Credentials are not needed for individuals looking to shoot photos/video along the course.

New in 2013: Bus Transport to Start Line Photo/Video Riser
Credentialed photographers/videographers can only access the Chicago Marathon start line via bus as all other entry points will be closed. Bus transportation will be provided from the Hilton Chicago (location of the media center; 720 S. Michigan Ave.).

Please arrive at the hotel’s 8th Street entrance at 6:15 a.m. Media members must present their Chicago Marathon media credential and go through a brief security screen before boarding the buses.

Media members will be dropped off adjacent to the start line at approximately 6:45 a.m. They must then return to the buses by 8 a.m. to be transported back to the Hilton Chicago.

Please note that it will not be possible to access the start line photo/video riser on foot. Likewise, the only way to get from the start line to the finish line photo corrals, or back to the Hilton Chicago, will be via bus transport.

Finish Line Photo/Video Corral
Credentialed media can access the finish line photo/video corral on foot by entering Grant Park through the security checkpoint at Balbo Street and Michigan Avenue starting at 8 a.m. All bags and equipment will be screened prior to entering the Park. The finish line photo/video corral will close at the conclusion of the elite race at 10:15 a.m., at which point all media must exit the finish line area.

Race Day Interviews
Please note that the start and finish line photo/video corrals are for shooting race photos and videos only. Interviews with athletes and spectators will not be conducted in these areas, except by our official broadcast partners. All elite athletes will be made available for interviews after the race in the Media Center at the Champions’ Press Conference. Spectator and/or participant interviews must take place outside of Grant Park.

Broadcast Truck Parking and Access

TV trucks will enter Grant Park off of Lake Shore Drive at Monroe Street. Parking will be available for official trucks only; no personal vehicles will be allowed. Outlets must request and be approved for parking placards no later than Friday, October 11, at 5 p.m.

More details will follow regarding vehicle security screening, arrival time and parking.

Media Guide
The 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Media Guide is available for download atwww.chicagomarathon.com/mediaguide. Hard copies may be picked up at the Media Center during regular hours of operation.

About the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
In its 36th year and a member of the World Marathon Majors, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon annually attracts 45,000 participants, including a world-class elite runner and wheelchair athlete field, and an estimated 1.7 million spectators. As a result of its national and international draw, the iconic race assists in raising millions of dollars for a variety of charitable causes while generating $243 million in annual economic impact to its host city according to a report by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Regional Economics Applications Laboratory (R.E.A.L.). The 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon will start and finish in Grant Park beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 13. In advance of the race, a two-day Health & Fitness Expo will be held at McCormick Place Convention Center on Friday, October 11, and Saturday, October 12.
