WHAT: Launch of the African Report on Child Wellbeing 2013: Towards Greater Accountability to Africa’s Children.
This new flagship report from the African Child Policy Forum (ACPF) analyses and ranks the performance of 52 African governments in a Child-Friendly Index comparing progress over the past five years since the first ACPF ranking in 2008.
It will answer questions including;
- Is Africa more child-friendly compared to five years ago?
- Who are Africa’s best performers in terms of child-friendliness and who are the least child-friendly?
- Which countries have most improved in terms of providing for the rights and wellbeing of their children?
- Who are the biggest fallers in terms of child-friendliness ranking over the past five years?
- Who is performing consistently well, and who is consistently failing their children in the region?
- Does a country’s level of child-friendliness depend on its level of wealth?
- What are the challenges facing Africa to ensure the wellbeing of its children?

- Minister of Gender, Children and Community Development of the Republic of Malawi (TBC)
- H.E. Ms Zenebu Tadesse Woldetsadik, Minister of Women, Children and Youth Affairs (MoWCYA) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (TBC)
